Ava and her 5 month old cousin Isaac enjoyed some quality time together a few weekends ago at Isaac's house in Nashville. With boisterous coos and giggles, Isaac delighted in sharing his wild thoughts and dreams. Ava, a bit more laconic (at present), hung on as long as should could before drifting into a peaceful afternoon nap.

Reluctant Valentines Baby

I wore Ava out taking pictures of her on Valentines Day. How could I not - she had a special Valentines Day outfit. (No I don't have a life other than Ava right now, thank you.) The pups even got in on the action. As you can see they're not exactly sure of her purpose.

Lunch with the Ladies

As you can see, Ava felt a little underwhelmed during our luncheon with some friends this past Tuesday. Apparently the converstation was not lively enough to keep her interest - she found the backs of her eyes far more stimulation. I was actually relieved since I thought for sure she'd be fussy after running errands with me all morning. Jennie (left of Ava in photo) is due in May with a boy. She enjoyed meeting Ava for the first time even if she (Ava) slept most of the time. Shannon and Connie also enjoyed our luncheon and were clearly enamoured by my angelic and perfectly behaved ;) daughter.

Ava and her Gal Pals

This past Saturday, Ava enjoyed spending time with some of her oldest and dearest friends. Sisters Scarlett and Harper (five months old), Ava, and Jordan (almost 4 months old) lavished in napping and eating festivities while their parents (Dustin, Ashlie, Rob, Marcy, Eric, and Feriba) dutifully stood by and took photos. Also in attendance were Kevin and Sarah (recently engaged), Orest, and Glyn and Kate who are expecting a baby boy this July.

Ava Leigh Wright

We've decided to create a blog to share Ava's life with friends and relatives. So here are some highlights of her life so far. Born on November 16, 2005 at 12:12am, she weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and reached 20 inches in height. Today she is a healthy 11.5 pounds and 23 inches at 3 months of age (14 weeks to be exact). She is frequently told (by familiars and strangers) that she looks "just like her daddy!" - I have to agree. She enjoys grinning at anyone who approaches her with a smile, napping in her swing, and conversing with those who speak in coos (Mommy and Daddy are well versed). She has also been actively endeavoring to sit up independently. As she burgeons with new skills and abilities, these early days grow more and more enjoyable; Ava simply fascinates us.
